One of the lovely resident's at Sycamore Court was treated to a surprise 99th birthday celebration with family and friends.
Resident Dorothy Bennett turned 99 on Wednesday, 12th June and enjoyed a party with the team at Sycamore Court, her family and friends.
At the special party, Mrs Bennett was asked to lead the grand opening of the new garden area at the home. Dorothy proudly cut the ribbon to the new patio area, and enjoyed blowing out the candles on her scrumptious birthday cake whilst residents cheered her along.
Dorothy used to love playing golf, and nowadays she enjoys a game of dominoes with her family and staff in the home. She was married to police officer Earnest Frank Bennett at the age of 20 and had a successful career working for the Government.
Dorothy has 4 children – and says her secret for living to 99 is to keep fit and stay active!
Activity Coordinator Julie Morrison said: “Dorothy is a much-loved resident and it was just wonderful celebrating her 99th birthday.
“She has such a special and close bond with her children – it was just fitting having them here on the day.”
