The winning piece, entitled ‘Willow’s Eggcellent Day Out’ captured the judges’ attention with its remarkable attention to detail, from the carefully crafted eggshell characters seated inside the bus to the delightful finishing touches, including a set of “chicks with glasses” that added an extra layer of personality and charm.

However, it was the story behind the creation that truly set the entry apart. Residents chose to recreate the Holmes Care bus as a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated bus team, who regularly take them on outings to destinations of their choosing, supporting independence, enjoyment and meaningful experiences beyond the home.

The Art Competition, held across all Holmes Care homes, saw a wide range of impressive entries, from immersive sensory displays to vibrant Easter bonnet creations, making the judging process no easy task for the Senior Leadership Team.

Chelsea Flynn, Activity Co-ordinator at Willow House added:
“We are absolutely chuffed to have won. It has been a real team effort which has been such fun to make together.” 

As winners of the competition, Willow House has received a special prize, with residents now deciding how best to enjoy their reward, whether through an outing, event or activity of their choice to add to their already vibrant calendar.
