In the lead-up to the day, residents took part in a range of activities to prepare for the celebrations, including naming the stars of the show – four hobby horses who are now affectionately called Buttercup, Hollie, Nala and Georgie Sparklebright. The build-up created a real sense of anticipation across both homes, with everyone eager to get involved.
On the day itself, the homes were filled with laughter as residents, families and staff embraced the occasion, purchasing Red Nose Day merchandise and the manager was sponsored to wear her red nose for the whole day. The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the much-anticipated “Hobby Horse Derby”, where both residents, families and team members competed in good spirits, showcasing their competitive sides while sharing plenty of smiles and laughter.
